Gamma World 4th edition anyone interested?
« on: December 18, 2008, 11:44:47 AM »
Hello,

I have been running Gamma World 4th Edition for years and I was going to try and run it this time at Bashcon. I tried to run it last year but had on luck. Is anyone interested in playing it if I run it?  When I checked on my game last year the staff said "Gamma What?"  I didn't think that this game was that ancient. LOL   Thanks Jeff Howerton

Gamma World takes place in the mid-25th century, more than a century after nuclear war decimated human civilization. Player characters include  humans (referred to as "Pure Strain Humans" , mutated humans, sentient animals or plants. Characters explore Ancient ruins and strange post-apocalyptic societies to gain knowledge of the Ancients and social status for themselves. Common adventure themes involve protecting fragile post-apocalypse societies, retrieving Ancient "artifacts" (science fiction gadgetry such as power armor, laser pistols, and anti-grav sleds), or mere survival against the multifarious dangers of the future (such as gun-toting mutant rabbits, rampaging ancient death machines, or other Gamma Worlders bent on mayhem).-Wikipedia.org

Sounds kind of like the Fallout games.  When are you going to be scheduling this?
Give a man a fire and he will be warm for a night.
Set a man on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

Paul,

Saturday, I was thinking around 11:00 or 12:00.  The game is very much like Fallout and the Terminator (Minus Skynet).  I was going to have pregenerated characters. One of them is always a Pure Strain Human.  Thanks   Jeff

I don't see you on the event list, but I am keeping some space on Saturday open for the game.

Just wanted to say that you ran a great game. Hope to play the same character in a sequel at the BASH in '10.

A continuation is a great idea, and don't forget the party now has 2 trucks now as well. Cool, the plot is already starting. LOL :D

Trucks nothing! We also got a water cooler, a dirty toilette, and a tuba. I am fairly certain we have the makings of the ultimate dooms day weapon here!

Bwuh ha ha hah!!!

Seriously, I had a lot of fun!

I cannot WAIT. Your game (and the other post-apoc game on Saturday morning) are what made me decide to come to this con. I had not planned on attending, but I am a huge Gamma World fan. I am currently running Legion of Gold using the Savage Worlds system conversion.

Please feel free to e-mail me back and let's chat. I'd like to connect Gamma World fans together if possible.

Yours,

John

P.S. got bored at lunch and rolled up a Mutant Animal (chameleon) 1st level Scout using the online D&D dice roller (recorded the rolls). Has fairly average stats, but good mutations for a Scout. Bought him some Tech I & II gear. Feel free to use him in the game - I'll bring it by for your OK.
